At 8 or so years old, Monty is a case of arrested development.  When others of his age have cast off the follies of youth and started to get serious about their 401Ks, Monty is still digging, climbing and jumping.  (If Monty were human, he'd be a 50 year old man still engaged in burping contests.)  He earned his name in part from Monty Python's Flying Circus!

Monty is friendly with people, dogs, and most cats; however, he prefers eating alone and not sharing his food dish with anyone else.  He is well-behaved and quiet when crated, but is very energetic and is too inquisitive when left to his own devices. 

Monty would be happy with another dog, or equally happy to have his human all to himself.  He has a crooked smile and a very creative, active mind.

Monty's foster mom says he's like the kid who's report card says, "Monty always participates in class."  What that really means is, he talks all the time and never works quietly.  She says he makes her laugh.  A lot!

Monty was adopted out to a family that he dearly loved.  He was returned to Sanctuary House (depressed and hurt, we might add) because of house training issues.  Monty needs someone with patience and consistency to teach him this virtue.

Adoptive Status:  Neutered, and UTD on shots. 

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Monty needs a home where his family will patiently work with him as he acquires the manners of a house pet.  A dog door would be very helpful.  A securely fenced yard is required unless you are committed to walking him on lead ALWAYS.

Owner Aptitude Level:  Probably best in a home with prior dog experience.  He's going to make a great pet, though, for someone with the energy to keep up with him.  Monty loves life!
