Melissa is a sweet, sweet, sweet older dog who was probably a breeding female for a hunter (hence she had two large hernias repaired).  She is great with other dogs and children and probably wouldn't care about a cat.  She loves to put her nose to the ground and do the beagle thing - track.  She also likes to tell you when you are not moving fast enough getting her food or letting her in the house with a funny little bark that makes her front feet come off the ground.  She is, however, most of time a pretty quiet little girl and would do well in a household that's not too rowdy.  Lissa loves to the sit on the couch with you or sleep with you - she doesn't take up much room.  She truly is very sweet.  She adores being petted and talked to.

Lissa is a typical thrown away beagle - nearly bred to death and then tossed when a human had gotten all he could from her.  We are so hoping that someone will come along and offer her a shot at a decent life - good food, a comfortable warm bed, and kind, loving hands.

Adoptive Status:  Spayed, UTD on shots and micro-chipped.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love her.

Owner Aptitude Level:  Beginner.
