Lolli's mama was scheduled to be euthanized in rural South Carolina. Fortunately for she and her siblings a kind rescue worker came through and couldn't bear the thought. Candy delivered six puppies on the day she was supposed to come north on the transport. Needless to say, she didn't make it. That same kind woman kept the Candy and the puppies safe at her home for several weeks until a couple of our volunteers could go fetch them. Mama is mostly beagle. Daddy is anybody's guess. Lolli is happy, healthy, playful, and full of life, but puppies are hard work. At this age you can expect your floors to be soiled, your shoes to be eaten, and perhaps your watch buried in the back yard. Potential adopters should understand that adopting a puppy is not a commitment to be taken lightly. They require diligent oversight and constant vigilance. Lolli will need someone who will be committed to her care for her entire lifetime - which is typically 14-15 years. Due to the noise and activity level of a dog this young, we discourage placement in apartments or condos. We also prefer to place puppies in homes with securely fenced yards, and no children under the age of 5, unless you have previous dog experience. Adoptive Status: Spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative and micro-chipped. Owner Aptitude Level: Prior puppy experience would be helpful. Puppies are challenging. Posted: 5/24/11
