Can you imagine this pudgy diminutive girl as part of a hunter’s pack?  Well, that was the fate of pretty little Lollipop who was turned over to animal control upon the death of her hunter owner.   We don’t know what her life must have been like, but considering her profound shyness, and,we have to admit, not overwhelming fondness for humans, it must not have been a piece of cake.  Yet behind that façade of shyness – when nobody is looking and people are not to be seen - lives the typical beagle personality, i.e. happy, genial, outgoing...  We think she'd be happiest in a home with at least one other outgoing and happy-go-lucky dog for her to bond with and do “beagle stuff.”

Lollipop will be happy to be in your presence, but just in sight, not sitting in your lap and begging for tummy rubs. We would truly love her to find a loving and understanding home.  She's been in rescue for quite awhile now and we suspect that she’s turning the calendar pages and turning, and turning… She sees other dogs come and go and she’s still there.  If you understand the profoundly shy, if you want to experience the incredible reward of gaining the confidence and love of a dog that has not experienced much of it in her life, please give this girl a chance.

Scientists have found the gene for shyness. They would have found it years ago, but it was hiding behind a couple of other genes.
