Jodie is very much a puppy, still chewing, occasionally tripping over her own feet, and very, very bouncy.  She has settled in well with the other resident dogs.  Just like a toddler, every toy in the toy basket is removed and played with, but never returned.  (Go figure!)  Blankets are for shaking and dog beds for attacking.

Jodie will easily crate during the day as long as a Kong with peanut butter in it goes in the crate first. At night she isn't that keen to go to bed in her crate but once in she falls asleep fast. Her favorite trick is to shake while in her crate and have her tail hit the sides of the plastic crate. Jodie's nickname is now Bongo since whenever she hits her tail on the crate it sounds like she is playing the bongo drums! We are working on the beagle love of counter surfing and jumping on people to say hello. Jodie is learning fast that the best way to get a pet is to sit. She is a real love bug and loves having her tummy rubbed. There has been a couple of potty accidents in the house but Jodie is learning that outside is better.

You can tell that Jodie has been kept outside for most of her life. The first time we turned the TV on it scared her. Everything in the house is a new experience but she is curious not fearful. Leash walking is still a mystery but playing in the backyard is great fun. When Jodie is out for a walk she is hesitant even with the other dogs for company but when we work on the leash in the house Jodie is starting to understand. Especially when tasty treats are involved!
