Ian Finch is a small sweet middle-aged guy. He's a laid back fellow having outgrown the puppy intensity that can drive normal people crazy. He isn’t opposed to sleeping in on the weekends, so will let his family have their extra winks on days that the boss isn’t cracking the whip. He is healthy, happy and smart, but does have a little independence thing going. He uses the dog door, sits on command (treat in hand), goes outside to go to the bathroom, walks well on a leash and sometimes comes when called (the independence thing). He will stay quietly in a crate, but we usually have to bribe him to enter with a treat. Once inside, he settles and doesn’t whine for release. He does have a bit of the wanderlust in his bones though as evidenced by his travels over the fence and through the neighborhood during the big snow of 2010. He is not aggressive towards other dogs, but doesn’t seem to seek out their company either. He would probably be good in a single dog household that has lots and lots of toys for him to sleep with, carry around & leave behind, or chew on. He will give a little warning growl if his siblings try to take his toys away from him. He eats well and is in the process of learning a few
mealtime manners. He doesn’t
show food aggression, but wants his bowl now.
He is coming to understand that not every full bowl belongs to him,
but has not learned the patience to wait quietly for his bowl yet.
Ian is a sweetie! He isn’t demanding and does not insist that he gets lots of attention. He does like a good rub, is willing to sit on your lap, but can pass on the kissing part. If you are looking for a quiet companion that you can love and be loved by, Ian Finch may just be your man. Adoptive Status: Neutered, UTD on shots and micro-chipped. Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love him. Owner Aptitude Level: Beginner. Posted: 1/18/09 |
