Clearly, Edie can and will sleep just about anywhere.

11/14/08:  We received the following update from Edie:

Dear Beagle Rescue,

I wanted to let you know that I am doing very well in my foster home!  I am exercising regularly and eating a special reduced-calorie diet because my foster mom says people can't see my inner beauty because I'm just a little chubby.  I can tell I'm losing weight, though, because my harness is getting loose!  I love to go for walks, and to run and play with my foster siblings in the back yard.  But what I love most of all is getting lots of hugs and kisses and snuggles.  My foster mom has assured me that I will find a forever home with some really snuggly people in it.

  I like to curl up with a good book!

Edie is a "fluffy" girl who has obviously been bred many times.  Fortunately, those days are now in her past.  This is a very sweet, loving, mellow, and very human bonded girl who will make someone a wonderful companion.  For a dog who literally has never been walked before, she took to the leash very well.  Edie is patient and gentle, nonplused by the other dogs and cats in her home.  If she could be the only dog and be in your presence 24/7, she would be happy, as well.  This is quite possibly the only Beagle in the world who would rather be petted than eat.  Clearly, her career as a breeder did not offer much in the way of affection and she is currently enjoying every moment she now receives.

Edie's tail was docked for reasons we can't even begin to imagine.  It doesn't prevent her from enthusiastically wagging her entire rear end in greeting, though.

Adoptive Status:  Spayed, UTD on shots and micro-chipped.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Edie is very low maintenance, but would benefit from regular exercise. 

Owner Aptitude Level:  Beginner.  Really, really a beginner.
