Clark
is a young, healthy, trusting and playful fellow that loves other dogs.
He is calm and patient except at mealtime when
he is pushing just a bit to get that bowl down to the floor.
It is understandable that he looks forward to
his meals since when he was rescued, he was very thin and looked as if he
missed quite a few meals in the past.
He has put on a few pounds since being rescued,
and looks forward to getting back to a normal weight.
We are working on the potty training
now.
He is intelligent, attentive and willing to please so I
think that he will catch on quickly.
However, he doesn’t seem to be adjusting to the
crate very well.
He fidgets while confined in the crate, but
never whines to be released.
His foster mom been keeping him on a leash to
walk in the backyard, and he is doing well in that department.
We have not yet ventured out to the real world,
but I think he will take nicely to walking on lead even with the many
distractions of neighborhood travels.
Clark is looking forward to the day he can go outside
without the leash, so he can romp and run in the fenced yard with his foster
siblings.
He now plays in the confines of the kitchen & porch
areas, but his “prey” escapes through the dog door.
I have been discouraging his use of the dog
door, but that won’t stop him for long.
He watches how the others use it and has already
snuck through once to greet me on my arrival from work.
Clark
loves company and should be placed in a home with another dog.
He is not particularly happy when left alone,
but usually offers complaints in short bursts of whining with periods of
rest (silence) in between.
He loves to snuggle, hear what a fine dog he is,
and will sit quite still if anyone wants to pet him.
He is not fearful or shy and will not squirm if
picked up and held.
In fact, he is aspiring to be someone’s lap dog.
He has shown a mild streak of jealousy if he
thinks he is not getting his fair share of attention.
He likes to play with the ball if his brother
will give him the chance.
He is energetic and fun with so much to offer to
a new friend, and all he requires in return is good care and love.
