If you're looking for a laid back, very low maintenance dog Cagney is the girl for you!  She's an amazing dog with the patience of a saint.  Have cats?  How about kids?  Guess what?!  Cagney doesn't care!  She follows the toddler all over the house just wanting to tag along for company.  The litter box, cat food and even the cats are of no interest to this great pooch.  She doesn't beg and your two year old can eat snacks next to her and she won't even glance in their direction!  Cagney doesn't require much more than someone to pet her and make sure she's fed.  She doesn't play with toys, and doesn't prefer treats (though she'll eat soft ones every now and again).  We gave her a rawhide when she came to us and so far all she's done was bury it in a blanket.  If we uncover it, she wanders the house to bury it elsewhere.  She would make an excellent pet for just about anyone - unless that is, you prefer the energy of a pup.  She's used to being crated when you're out of the house or sleeping but it's not necessary.  She sometimes lays in her crate on her own but prefers the softness of your loveseat.  If you give her a doggy bed or folded blanket she'll sleep there most of the day.  We take Miss Cagney for walks every day and she isn't much of a puller unless something sparks the interest of her Beagle nose.  The only thing she asks for it lots of petting when you have time.  She'll sit next to you on the couch for hours while you pet her.  I bet you're wondering why a great dog like Cagney is still looking for a home, aren't you?  Well, most people want a young dog.  Not one who is about 6 or 7.  And Cagney has allergies which means she gets real itchy sometimes but there are quick fixes for that!  If you'd give her a chance I promise you won't be sorry! 

Adoptive Status:  Cagney is spayed, UTD on shots, Heartworm Negative and micro-chipped.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love them.

Owner Aptitude Level:  Beginner.
