Annie came to us from a rural shelter in Virginia. Three weeks into rescue she delivered three pups. The puppies have all been adopted and Annie has been spayed and she is ready for her forever home. Annie is a beautiful red and white beagle--on the tiny side, probably no taller than 10 or 11 inches at her shoulder. She's sweet natured and very submissive. She is good with the household cats and good with non-aggressive, laid back dogs. She is not fond of small, excitable dogs. She appears to be house trained, although it's hard to tell in a multi-dog household. She's crate trained, walks well on a leash, is quiet for a beagle (she only barks if she sees a rabbit), doesn't chew, and is very loving. Her foster mom thinks she'd make a good "only" dog and would adore having all the attention to herself, but would probably enjoy the company of another non-dominate dog, as well. She is extremely tolerant of being left alone for hours at a stretch. At night she's in a crate and only yips if she has to go outside. If you are looking for a quiet, calm, gentle beagle, Annie is your girl. She asks only for a warm bed, a kind human to cuddle with, and two square meals a day. HOWEVER
- Annie can climb. She can climb out of a six foot kennel as well as
over baby gates! A chain link fence poses no challenge for this girl.
A privacy fence or maybe one of those vinyl picket fences may keep her in
the yard, but any kind of fence that offers a toe hold offers lots of
possibilities for Annie. Adoptive Status: Spayed, UTD on shots and heartworm negative. Annie is microchipped. Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love her. Seriously, Annie is about as low maintenance as you can get. Owner Aptitude Level: Beginner. Posted: 5/21/09 |
