September 2010 -

Violet is no longer a shrinking Violet, but a beagle with a full voice when someone knocks on the door. She has decided this is her home, and she will let us know someone is approaching. This behavior is in total opposition to our other rescue beagle (from a different rescue group), Dailey, who waits by the door, welcomes anyone in, and begs to be pet by them!  About once a week or so, she will tear around the house like a dog possessed, stopping at a toy for a second or so to mouth it, and take off again; she repeats this cavorting behavior for several minutes and then lies down to rest. She seems quite the healthy beagle now!

February 2010 -

Violet is still very shy, but is adjusting well to her new digs.  She runs to get her meals now, thumping her tail and sitting close by while I dish out the food for her and Dailey (or other rescue Beagle).  She is still a little jumpy when she eats; so I sit with her until she finishes.  She loves her walks and is very affectionate.  I plan to take more pics, and write an update that is a better picture of her life here.  I know it is better than her pre-Beaglerescue life; the poor little girl may have been debarked.  She has yet to make any noise except a whimper.  Thank goodness for organizations that do good deeds!
