Mara,
My new foster dad is doing the typing because my paws are muddy from our
morning hike, and I don't type too well either.
Things are great here at Caledon Natural Area in King George, Va. We aren't
too far away from your place and my new mum and dad said they are going to
take me to visit you and your pack to pick out a new brother or sister.
They really would like this place, tons of toys, a great back yard, miles of
hiking and nature trails that I go on everyday, and the best food. My mum
and dad are real beagle people, they know that I should be on the couch with
them during t.v. time, and sleep in the big dog bed with them at night.
They really love me and are always cuddling, petting, and kissing on me.
They think my ears are the softest in the world. My new doctor at
Fredericksburg Animal Hospital agrees too, as I got my first check up
yesterday (actually I had a tummy ache from one of my mums daylilies that I
chewed on). Everyone there was really impressed with my mum and dad for
having such a beautiful beagle (the staff are beagle people too!). My mum
and dad told them how great Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland is, and I
gotta agree. If you all hadn't saved me and found me my new mum and dad, I
probably would be just a faint memory. Please thank Kelly and Jim (and my
foster brother Solomon whom I miss a lot) for me.
My mum and dad must be health nuts. I don't get to eat from their plates no
matter how much I try. No amount of beagle plea's or cuddliness gets me any
of their food. My dad does carry around biscuits in his pocket, which is
cool. I run to the door to see him when he comes home late at night. Its
never too late at night for him to walk me in the woods, and every morning
mum and dad take me on the hiking trails and let me sniff and drag them a
couple of miles. Sundays are the best as we spend half the day hiking and
playing.
Dad is a photographer (or thinks he is) and is always carrying a camera and
taking pictures of me. He has pictures all over the living room of his
first beagles, Peter and Wendy. I think I would have liked to meet them.
They must have been great beagles as mum and dad have alot of pictures of
them. He said he would have me added to the other pictures as soon as I sit
still long enough to take a decent picture(usually when I sleep).
Well, gotta go now. Dad has to replace his work pants as they got mud on
them while he was typing this letter for me (I was sitting on his lap).
Thanks for my New Mum and Dad
Sasha Coen Cox (my new last name!)
