We received this note from Mercede's family

We wanted to let you know that on August 22, 2007 Mercedes lost her long battle with cancer.  She as a fighter till the end and her tail never stopped wagging.  She was a great friend, a true gift.  She is survived by her two grieving parents, Mickey and Barbra, her foster brother Major who she was a wonderful sister and seeing eye dog to, and her 7 cat brothers and sisters.  She is truly missed!
