4/3/06 - We first adopted Manny in March 2002 and my husband promptly renamed him Barkley, which as it turns out is a well-suited name.  He has become such a complete nut, and we love him dearly.  He will not settle down if we are on the move and only if we stay put for a while will he even sit.  But then the moment you move, so does he, regardless if he has been sound asleep or not.  Even now as I write this e-mail, he is at my feet.  We figure that if he could talk he would sound something like "Donkey" from the Shrek movies.  All he wants to do is play and eat.  After we had Barkley for about a year, we noticed that he was really attached and started to be destructive in our house.  We thought the best way to cure that would be to get another beagle.  I went to the website, and there was Marley just looking back at me.  I called Mara and asked if I could adopt him and she was so kind and said I could come and get him that weekend as long as Barkley and he got along.  We took Barkley with us to pick him up and they hit it off so we then added Marley to our family.  Marley took a while to come out of his shell, but I think he finally knows he has a forever home.  Marley is a little subdued and loves the sun.  If it's shining, he will find its location and lay in it.

It's been 3 years now with Marley and 4 with Barkley and they are so fantastic.  We recently moved to a new house with a bigger yard (from a townhouse) and they could not be any happier.  They run around the yard and play with out car, Arthur, from time to time.

Anyway, I could go on and on about them, so I'll stop now, but I've included some great pictures of them for their webpages.
