Scout (formerly Macquire) is doing great in his new home. It's been
two weeks now and he's adjusting to the new surroundings, the big back yard
and a steady supply of chewies (which our cats have now convinced him
doesn't include them.) The first time he went out into the backyard, he
approached our fish pond at full gallop. Thinking it was the same 3 inch
deep wading pool his foster home had in their backyard, he just ran right
in... only to do what can best be described as a hound belly flop. The
pictures below where he's wet were right after this.
Scout is a quick learner though. He has only had a couple of accidents in
the house and he already knows how to come, sit, lie down
and roll over thanks to some hard work on the part of our kids. This
doesn't mean that the beagle doesn't come out in him once in a while though.
He can be a little stubborn about going into his crate for example. But
he's a very playful and handsome addition to the family and the kids just
adore him.
Thanks for the great save.
