Update September 2, 2010

Riley has taken over!  Our hearts that is… and yes, pretty much runs the house!  He is a good boy… even with his “young dog” outbursts… he is just a lovable, floppy, funny guy!!  He favorite toys are his bone, red treat ball and loves to chase the tennis ball.  All inside, of course, as his nose gets in the way outside.

He is an official Penn State Fan… okay, well Mommy is … and he now has his new PSU collar for the football season!  GO STATE!  Poor thing is in for an eye opener when he watches the game with Mommy and PSU is losing!  (I may need to get him Puppy counseling)!!  ha!

Riley has adjusted to “Mommy” going back to work pretty well… as soon as I get home and hit the garage door opener, you can hear him inside jumping and yelping for joy!!!  When I let him out of the cage, we run out to pee and than he bolts back into the house to unload his toys out of the cage.  Its the cutest thing. Than he plays, eats and than goes into his "watching for Daddy" position!!

The paw in the face is so much better than any old alarm clock!!  And at night, Riley tells us when it is time for his walk.  He loves all the kids in the neighborhood, as he goes down each driveway to greet them during our walk.  He also greets all his four legged friends that are also out for their evening walk!  That ends up into an ‘extended’ leash tangle but so much fun!!

We have told him once he “grows” up, he will get a “four legged” brother or sister from BRSM!!  (I’m hoping next summer)  And we know he will so happy!!

Lenny Hill is now “Riley” and he is doing well with his new name.  Sometimes I think he has it and than other times... not so much!  But we know Beagles have selective hearing.

We just LOVE him!!  Riley is beginning to think life is pretty good and has us pretty much wrapped around his paw.  He helps me paint during the day and do the house chores.  He loves his afternoon walks.  And than he starts to hang at the front door around 6:15PM waiting to greet Steve after work with tail wagging and ready to play.

Potty training has gone well.  Only a couple of accidents and now whines at the front door and we have a second to get there and out!  Couldn't be happier.

We take him to the dog park but he hasn't quite caught onto what to do!

His nose keeps him busy and he doesn't understand that he needs to run and play. This will come in time.

He loves his trips to Petco.  We have to carry him out of the store … as he has learned the nice people have treats!!  He loves dinner time, his treats, his doggie pillow, and loves playing with his toys.  His favorite game is fetch.

Riley is a smart and very loving boy!  Snuggle time is the best.  We are so happy to give him a loving home off the streets and he has filled a big hole in our home and hearts.
