Hi, I’m Beacon Beagle. Mara used to call me “Felicity,” and before that I was the Beagle known as “Flip.” My new parents named me “Beacon” because they love lighthouses. They adopted me in September of 2004, and they’re just now getting around to sending a picture and letting me tell my story – better late than never! Anyway, I live with my parents in Silver Spring. I have a brother, Bosco Beagle, who came from a rescue, too. We get along really well and never fight, although Mara said I could get pretty “barky” when it came to my toys, and she sure was right about that. The cloth squeaky bones are my favorite. I have a nice big yard to play in, and Bosco taught me how to do “fence patrol” to make sure the perimeter is secure. My Mommy is a nurse, so she takes really good care of me. My Daddy telecommutes to work, so I’m almost never alone. The four of us go for a walk every evening, except when it’s raining, because I hate to get wet! Bosco taught me how to sleep under the covers with Mom and Dad, but I keep my nose out so I can breathe better. My parents say I’m the happiest dog they’ve ever seen. All they have to do is look at me, and my tail starts wagging. Daddy says sometimes I wag it so hard he’s afraid it’s going to fly off – he’s so silly! I’m happy doing most things, but here’s a picture of me doing what I like to do best: being upside down!
