4/5/06 - Thanks to Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland, I have been blessed with the sweetest little beagle girl. Her name is Buttercup. She came into our lives December 2004. My husband and I were heartbroken, as we had just lost our beloved 13 year old Beagle, Sarah the night before Thanksgiving. We had also lost our beloved 11 year old Husky-Shepherd, Monroe, back in February. It is so hard to lose your pet, but to lose two in one year was unbearable. Our hearts were completely broken. We decided to adopt a rescued Beagle, to give a deserving dog a loving home. When I saw Buttercup's picture, I knew she was the Beagle for us. Thanks to a very special foster family who opened their hearts and home to this sweet little Beagle girl, Buttercup was being showered with love before I adopted her. Their daughter choose her name, which I love and have kept for her. When I adopted her Dec. 2004, I brought her home and she fit right into our lives and hearts. At first, she was timid. She was well behaved, house broken and very quiet. She got along very well with my mother's dog Casey. ( We all live in the same home.) From the day I brought her home, Buttercup has filled our lives with love. As each day goes by, she continues to shower us with her love and affection. She loves to give you her paw, as you sit and pet her. We did not teach her that, she did it herself. She loves to cuddle on the sofa and enjoys lots of belly rubs. Between my husband, mother and me, I do not know who spoils her the most, but we all love her dearly. It is truly amazing how much one tiny dog can change your life, heal the hole that was left in your heart from the loss of a previous pet and then continuously pour the love upon you day by day, unconditionally. I thought I was doing good by adopting a rescued Beagle, however the tables were turned and our little Buttercup gives all the blessings to us. Thank you Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland for the wonderful job you do in rescuing these precious Beagles, in giving them a chance to find a loving home. Thank you especially for our little Buttercup, who we think is the most precious Beagle to touch our lives. Also, thank you to Ewa and her family for being such wonderful, loving foster parents. With a grateful heart, Donna
