Update 4/27/07: Today Betty's cherry eyes were repaired. She has a little bit of residual swelling (we can take care of it with the drops we received from the vet) and has gotten all of her shots. The vet listened to her heart, checked her ears, and looked here and there - Miss Betty has been determined to be in very good health. She needs a little time to heal and she can start her new life in a new, loving forever home. A Beagle Rescue volunteer was visiting the Tri-County shelter today where she saw this small, tri-color 3 year old female beagle - tail wagging - and happy to see her. This dog didn't have a great chance for a forever home because she had not one, but two cherry eyes. (Cherry eye is the protrusion of a dog's third eyelid over their eye). It is easily fixed but doesn't help the dog make a good first impression with potential adopters. Sooooooo Beagle Rescue decided to help. This is Betty. Betty is a young, pretty little beagle girl. She loves to play is loving and a great disposition. She gets along well with her foster siblings and is has a great time running around in the yard. She was a little distrustful in the beginning but has already warmed up to her foster mom. Betty will not be available for adoption until her eyes are "fixed," we'll keep you posted. Adoptive Status: Betty is spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, and micro-chipped. Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love her. Owner Aptitude Level: Beginner.
