We are getting a breeding beagle from Johns Hopkins medical research lab we are
calling Beatrice. The doctor who's lab will use her puppies is driving her down
to severn river vet next wednesday (2/9). Her puppies will die in the
experiment. She would have been returned to the VA breeder to be resold to
research labs but they now have a policy of not taking dogs back because of
potential infections from non-vetted dogs.....so Hopkins called rescues today
and I agreed to take Bea.

2/14-BEATRICE: We need to post Beatrice, female, 2 - 3 yrs, 18 pounds (i
think...) I have the write up for Bea and Jim (sara's husband) should be sending
pictures.
Sara gave me the hard copy of the write up so will send but Beatrice is outgoing
and friendly, likes kids, does not like being crated. Is learning to go outside.
She has spent her career as a breeding dog for a medical research laboratory
(all her puppies have died in experiments). She would have been returned to the
breeder to be resold to another research lab except the breeder has stopped
taking the dogs back. We got lucky and she came to us.
