4/19/08 Update from Banjo's Mom: I just realized that I never let you all at BRSM know that Banjo was diagnosed with cancer back in February. He went in to have his teeth cleaned, and when they did his pre-op blood work they discovered several abnormalities. He wasn't able to get his teeth cleaned, and was later diagnosed with cancer. He is starting to go down hill, but is still loving life. He has been enjoying the beautiful weather; spending as much time outside as he can. I just wanted to give you an update on him.
September 9, 2007:
I just wanted to write to let everyone know how I'm doing. I've been in my forever home for two months now, and I'm really loving it. I am the only dog, which is how I like it. I don't like sharing with other dogs or being disturbed by them while I sleep. I love going on long walks with Mom, an car trips. We visit my friends (a Boston Terrier and a lab/beagle mix) at Grandma's house almost every weekend. It's a lot of fun, but it's nice to come home and be the only dog again. About a month ago one of my friends (another Boston Terrier) passed away from Cushings disease and cancer. Mom got really worried about me at that time, because she said I did a lot of the same things as him. Therefore, she had a bunch of tests run on me. Those were not fun. Doc told us yesterday that I have Cushings disease. Mom said that she will take good care of me and get me treated so I can have a "good quality of life." I don't know what all that means, but I'm sure she'll do what is best for me. I still feel fine, always got my tail wagging!
