Babette is a former research laboratory dog. In spite of her past, she is an incredibly sweet and loving puppy. With Babette around, you will never again have to wash your face or hands – she will gladly take care of that. Here’s what Babette has to say:

“Today was my first day alone in the new house. Well, not really quite alone because I’m in the company of two beagles – Juliet and Angelo – and two cats – Coco and Isis. I like having the beagles around because they’re a comfort to me. And I’m very curious about the cats, but I respect them very much and do not run after them or make their lives miserable.

“My foster parents felt bad about putting me in the crate while they were gone. You see, I’m a former lab dog and I spent my life in a cage. So they let me have the house to myself. And you know what? I was a very good girl and did not do any damage. I didn’t even chew my foster mom’s slippers. Well, not yet in any case.

“I love going for walks and playing in the back yard. There’s a basket of toys for me to try out and I think I like soft and squeaky things best of all, like that funny snake with which we play tug-of-war.”

Foster mom: Babette is an incredibly well-adjusted and well-socialized little girl. She will do very well in a home with other playful and mild-mannered dogs, but will certainly also enjoy being an only dog in a loving home. She’s still a puppy and we’re working on house-breaking issues. Indeed, she has not yet proven to be as destructive as a puppy can be and enjoys the softness and warmth of her bed and the company of other animals and people.

Now that we have gotten to know Babette a little better, we feel she would do best in a home that has either another beagle or a gentle, playful dog of similar size.

Adoptive Status:  Spayed, UTD on shots, Heartworm Negative and micro-chipped.

Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love her.

Owner Aptitude Level:  Beginner.
