Arianna bonds with her new mom on her Adoption Day!
11/11/06

Just look at that sweet face! Don't let it
fool you, though. She's plotting trouble....just as soon as she's out
of the infirmary!

This
little doe-eyed darlin' is another of a few dogs we've rescued from criminal
neglect lately. In order to avoid being prosecuted, her owners turned
her over to animal control--with her collar deeply embedded in her neck.
And she's just a BABY!!!!
Very
young, very sweet, and very, very beagle puppyish, the folks at the shelter
worked hard at getting her vetted and into rescue. She has been spayed
and the wound in her neck is healing quite nicely, although she will most
likely always bear a scar.
When her
foster mom picked her up, the shelter folks remarked that Arianna is "shy."
NOT! The second she entered her new foster home, she
immediately went into puppy-mode and wanted to play with the "big" dogs!
This irrepressible little girl will need to be kept fairly quiet for the
next two weeks while her spay heals. After that, all bets are off on
what mischief she can get in to!
Arianna's
foster mom mentioned to the vet that she has yet to bark. The vet
suggested that it's entirely possible that the
collar inflicted damage on her vocal cords. Only time will tell if she
gets her voice back.
Miss
Sweet Thing just loves a good ride in the car, is not intimidated at
all by the wild antics of the resident four year old (although he's not
allowed to play with her yet), nor is she put off by normal household
noises. This girl's tail wags constantly, even when she's nervous.
When she's happy, it's not a side to side wag, but a spastic, crazy, all
over the place wag! When she's all healed up and feeling 100%, she
will be a living, breathing entertainment center.
Adoptive Status:
Spayed. Will be UTD on shots and micro-chipped very soon.
Dream Home Minimum
Requirements: Arianna needs a loving home that will find humor and
patience in her puppy exploits.
Owner Aptitude Level:
Patient beginner.
