Above right, Mandy catches a few zzzzzzzs with her foster sister, Penny. |
Mandy is very young, so she's lots of fun and is quite affectionate. She's a cuddle pup and likes to sleep in bed with her human. Being a pup, she is curious and wants to explore everything. For one so young, she's not really rambunctious; in fact, she's quite gentle. She'll take your laundry out of the basket for you and help you put it away--behind the sofa, on the steps or in the middle of the living room floor. She is a sock thief extraordinaire. Although she's not housebroken, she is very good about going outside with the other dogs, thus has had very few accidents in the house. Mandy needs a home that is willing to teach her the things she needs to know to be a successful family member, and where she will be loved and protected for the next 14-16 years. She can be a little defensive with unfamiliar dogs and people, but warms up soon after the introductions are over. She likes the elderly cat more than the cat likes her, but they do get along. Mandy's a "digger," so a fence with a secure bottom is a must. She'd also prefer a wealthy owner who is willing to keep her in those digestible Nylabones. Oh...she'd also like her own cell phone. They're delicious. Adoptive Status: Spayed, UTD on shots, Heartworm Negative and micro-chipped. Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Much patience and love is required. Mandy is definitely not a roughneck, and needs to be with gentle children who know how to treat a dog. To that end though, she does need to be placed in a home that has another non-aggressive dog and/or with children. She loves to play (and play, and play...) and would be miserable left home alone all day. Owner Aptitude Level: Beginner with patience. Posted 12/5/05
